Do I need a Holdings account to use Giving?

Yes — Holdings needs to know where to send the donations. Opening a Holdings account is free (no credit check, takes 5 minutes) and comes with free checking at 1.75% APY, plus all the tools your nonprofit needs.

What’s the processing fee?

The standard rate is 3% + $0.30 per donation. Nonprofits can apply for a reduced rate of 2.5% + $0.30 directly in the Giving dashboard. Donors also have the option to cover the fee themselves, so 100% of the intended gift reaches your cause.

Can donors choose to cover the processing fee?

Yes. When a donor gives, they’re offered the option to add the processing fee on top of their gift. If they opt in, your organization receives the full intended donation amount — nothing deducted.

How do I get a reduced nonprofit rate?

Click “Apply for 2.5% nonprofit rate” in your Giving dashboard. Holdings reviews your nonprofit status and applies the reduced rate once approved.

Can I create pages for different campaigns?

Yes. Each campaign gets its own unique page, link, and QR code. Create separate pages for your annual fund, a specific fundraising dinner, your Sunday giving, an online campaign, or any other initiative. Donations to each page are tracked separately.

How does the donor database work?

Every donation — whether it came in online through your page or was manually entered by a staff member — is automatically added to your donor database. No spreadsheet needed. You can see donor history, amounts, and campaign activity in one place.

Can I add donations that came in by check or cash?

Yes. Staff can manually enter offline donations — checks, cash, wire transfers — directly into the donor database so your records stay complete, regardless of how the gift arrived.

When do payouts hit my bank account?

Payouts are powered by Stripe and deposited directly to your Holdings checking account on Stripe’s standard schedule — typically 1–2 business days after a donation is processed.

Can I use the QR code for in-person events?

Absolutely. That’s one of the best use cases. Download the QR code and print it on event programs, table tents, church bulletins, flyers, or signage. Attendees scan with any phone camera and your donation page opens instantly.

Is Giving available on all Holdings plans?

Yes. Giving is available to all Holdings customers at no additional monthly cost. You only pay the per-donation processing fee.
